Do Dental X-rays Cause Brain Tumors? UB Experts Available to Discuss

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Experts from the Âé¶¹´«Ã½o School of Dental Medicine are available to discuss the recent study conducted by researchers at Yale School of Medicine that finds that regardless of age, those who had "bitewing" dental x-rays yearly or more frequently were at 40 - 90 percent higher risk to be diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Dean of the dental school, Michael Glick, DMD, will be on hand Friday, April 13 from 10 - 11:30 a.m.

Maureen Donley, clinical associate professor and director of radiology, UB Department of Oral Diagnostic Sciences, will also be available.

Both will address:

- An overview of the study

- The different kinds of dental x-rays, past and present

- Who might be at risk

- Questions to ask your dentist
